The racing domain of gaming, including areas like esports, has always been interesting to watch. From one vantage point, the same field has been slow to grow in comparison to other big-league (which is here true even in the literal sense) contenders. Large domains for gaming growth have always been FPS, MOBA, RTS and from recently, Battle Royale games. Even the smaller sports games, like the range of titles controlled by EA Games, have managed to attain a larger audience than car-based releases. Racing games, even though technically under the sports games banner, did not have such luck.

A new Racing Age
Today, with the era of cross-platform releases upon us, games like Asphalt 9 Legends stand a great shot of finally providing some needed nitro boost to the same genre. Now, in a short amount of time, it has made great strides forward, not just for itself, but for all racing games. The game was made by Gameloft and releases only a few months back. It had its launch on Android and iOS, but anyone can also play Asphalt 9 Legends on PC, merging the users into the same ecosystem.Set of High-Quality Elements
Why is it a good contender for a mayor outing into the esports arena, but also for attracting more players than other similar games? It has a strong pedigree, coming out as the ninth sequel in the Asphalt series. The graphics presented by the game are great and look stunning on all devices. The same goes for controls and steering, which allows the game to be fun but not overly simplified. Finally, the action itself is both arcade-based and featuring great real-life physics. This combo makes Asphalt 9: Legends a joy not just to watch, but also to play, which is super-important for any potential esports in the making.Bright Future
I can’t say for sure, but for me, this is a very promising racing game. It holds over 5 million Google Play installs, as well as being an Editor’s Choice. This is why I’m almost certain it is going places (pun intended).
